Senior Electronics Design Engineer required by growing IoT company in Co. Clare. You will work on the design of a large variety of electronics products from concept though to product launch & will be responsible for the full product life cycle from product specification through to product design and supporting documentation 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review customer requirements and prepare detailed specification with a view to seek agreement on proposed product and features
  • Design and develop products from Schematic’s creation through to housing design
  • Write the associated firmware in line with the NPI product requirements
  • Work with the Product Development Manager to maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency with respect to key milestone deliverables
  • Work with Supply Chain to identify BOM requirements and alternative components where required depending on lead time availability for components on new products
  • Work with the technical team internally to prepare drawings and costs for NPI products
  • Oversee prototype builds and testing
  • Work with the commercial team and be a key contributor to the overall roadmap development discussions
  • Provide technical support to Production & Quality Departments where necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Electronics
  • Experience in the development of Analog and Digital Circuits utilising Embedded Microprocessors including Software Programming in C
  • High degree of innovation and creativity especially in concept design
  • Must have excellent communication and interaction skills.

ADVANTAGEOUS:

  • Experience with Atmel/PIC microcontrollers
  • Solid working knowledge of microcontroller interfacing
  • Familiar with software development tools such as Atmel studio, MPLAB, in-circuit debuggers, emulators and Software Version Control Systems (eg SVN or similar)
  • Experience in SPI, I2C communications and wireless communications such as: GSM, GPRS, ISM, Mbus, Wi-Fi, Sigfox, LoRa, Bluetooth
  • Knowledge of software development compliance standards
  • Be comfortable to perform detailed digital and analogue circuit design, simulation & analysis as appropriate to the project.
  • Be up to date with regulatory and industry compliance requirements appropriate to the target market
  • Have exposure to supporting design verification testing
  • Capable of developing a detailed specification in conjunction with the Customer
