Business Unit Manager – Manufacturing – Excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with operations management experience to join a growing multinational manufacturing company in Co. Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan and direct the overall engineering and manufacturing activities for a product line
  • Direct and oversee the activities associated with providing world class quality and manufacturing engineering technical support to the manufacturing areas
  • Provide Technical leadership, training and support to manufacturing teams and peers
  • Plan, schedule, facilitate and supervise the daily activities of the manufacturing team ensuring that safety, quality, cost-efficiency and on-time delivery goals are achieved
  • Plan the training and provision of headcount and adaptable shift models according to customer requirements and headcount forecast as detailed in sales forecast with a view to a flexible workforce for rotation between production work centers
    Plan the development and training of key staff to support business growth and succession
    Identify and implement improvements (individually and within teams) that produce annual cost-reductions, improve quality, reduce customer complaints and maximize customer satisfaction

Requirements:

  • B.Eng. Degree (ideally manufacturing / mechanical) in an engineering field desired
  • Experience in a Business Unit Manager / Operations Manager (for a product line) role within a similar environment
  • Background as a Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical or Production) with a focus on process improvement – within an assembly-type manufacturing multinational – ESSENTIAL
  • Strong leadership abilities – technical and people
  • Experience in an assembly-type manufacturing environment such as – aerospace, medical devices, automotive, high-tech manufacturing
  • Experience in a Lean Six Sigma environment
  • Good hands-on knowledge of assembly processes, mechatronics, pneumatics, robotics, etc.
  • Strong strategic and commercial awareness
  • Excellent commuicator and team player
  • Dynamic, resourceful, self-starter
