Design & Verification Engineer required for the test and verification of the performance of power supplies (in Cork) during early design stage in support of the principal design engineer. The successful candidate will need to effectively troubleshoot and modify newly designed products. The successful candidate will be required to input the circuit diagram, lead the PCB layout, contribute to the mechanical and thermal design, follow the prototype build, effectively troubleshoot and debug the designs, perform the DVT and support the QA team during the PVT. The successful candidate will most often be the project leader who makes things happen and will often work closely with the lead designer.


  • Adapt or modify existing power supplies to new customer requirements
  • Support design and development of power supply circuits from tens of watts to kilowatts
  • Support design and construction of high frequency transformers and inductors
  • Circuit diagram / PCB layout
  • Troubleshooting, testing
  • Design Validation Tests (DVT) including EMC tests

  • Write and adapt Lab-View test programs
  • eFMEA
  • Technical project management and coordination
  • Establish technical documentation
  • Technical support during PVT and NPI phase
  • Work close with senior engineers and colleagues


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Theoretical understanding of common converter topologies
  • Good understanding of analogue power electronics and magnetic circuits
  • Experience in AC/DC or DC/DC converters
  • Experience in safety approvals
