Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
Electrical Design Engineer required in Shannon to deliver high-quality Electrical Design Solutions for bespoke Automated assembly machines. As a key member of the project delivery team responsible for concept designs right through to overseeing the commissioning and validation of the electrical systems, you will work closely with the Mechanical Design and Controls Teams on the development of cost-effective electrical solutions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Level 8 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years in a similar Electrical Engineering role
- Experienced in the use of Eplan or Solidworks Electrical
- Knowledge of single/three-phase electrical systems and protection measures
- Knowledge in low voltage controls, safety circuits, PLC’s, industrial networks, vision systems and robotics an advantage
- Knowledge of servo-electric and pneumatic motion control systems
- Have good knowledge and understanding of machine safety requirements
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a team as necessary
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Electrical design, specification and development of innovative electrical solutions for automated assembly machines
- Select & evaluate the electrical components to be used in the electrical designs
- Develop electrical & pneumatic schematics
- Develop electrical layout drawings for new machine designs
- Develop and maintain an accurate electrical BOM for each new machine
- Manage the electrical build of machines, working closely with our suppliers and external partners
- Provide technical support to the machine build team throughout the entire project cycle, including design, machine build, debug and commissioning phases
- Conduct & contribute to electrical design reviews with all relevant stakeholders
- Contribute to machine risk assessments and electrical safety assessments
- Create & maintain all relevant documentation for new & upgraded equipment
- Responsible for ensuring that project timelines and targets are achieved
