Electro-Mechanical Engineer is required for the design and manufacturing of cutting-edge technology for market-leading IoT manufacturer in Wexford.
An ideal candidate will have a solid background in Electro-Mechanics with experience in IPC and ISO standards such as IPC-A-610, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
Requirements:
- Level 8 Degree or higher in Electro-mechanical, Electronic, Mechanical or similar Engineering discipline.
- At least 2 to 5 year’s relevant experience in a similar role.
- Technical competency in reading schematics (both electrical and mechanical)
- Experience with Altium, Solidedge or similar package.
- Experience within an electronics / IPC manufacturing environment.
- Experience with DFM (design for manufacture)
- Familiar with electro-mechanical systems design and debug.
- Exposure to IPC-A-610, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
- Willing to innovate and propose initiatives for new developments and continuous improvements.
- Fluent written and spoken English with excellent record keeping and report writing skills.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop product architectures and new technology concepts.
- Carry-out Electro-Mechanical systems design and debug.
- Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods.
- Develop mechanism design.
- Build mechanical/electromechanical proof of concepts to evaluate function, manufacturability, and/or robustness.
- Ensure high quality robust design of complex mechanical systems and components using tools such as dFMEA, QFD and FEA simulation.
- Analyze data generated from builds and lab experiments.
- Work with Industrial Designers, and product development teams to define and develop products from concept to Mass Production.
- Support other departments as required, e.g., assist in analysis of customer returns, debug, root cause analysis, technical support for customers, conduct tests in the Laboratory, etc.
- Perform tolerance analyses to verify performance of mechanisms and cosmetic specifications in the presence of high volume dimensional variation.
- Detailed 3D design and 2D documentation of all parts and assemblies.
- Interacting with vendors as well as internal Manufacturing, supply Chain, NPI and Supplier Quality Engineering groups in the Far East to develop manufacturing processes, tooling.
- Define reliability testing requirements and equipment.
- Optimize designs for cost, performance and quality.
