Electronic Design Engineer required for key role by innovative Irish company in Co. Kildare. Joining a team of highly experienced engineers, you will get the opportunity to work on exciting products for the global market.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain real-time video processing systems using FPGA’s
- Electronic hardware design through schematic capture and PCB layout
- Debug electronic hardware and perform root cause analysis on designs
- Perform signal integrity tests and qualification tests on new product hardware releases and support improvements on existing designs
- Create BOM of electronic components and assemblies, including component specifications
- Participate in DFMEA’s and design reviews
- Creation and review of documentation such as PCB assembly manufacturing files, system wiring diagrams, cable verification records, test reports and test plans
- Support the hardware team and other teams for full range of tests including prototyping, system assembly, design verification and production support
Requirements:
- Level 8 Degree in Electronic Engineering or Systems
- 5+ years’ experience in a hardware design/system integration role
- Knowledge and proficiency with VHDL/Verilog design and simulation
- Experience of low-level communications protocols (RS232/485, SPI, I2C)
- Knowledge of Python, Visual Studio, C / C++ and ability to use development IDE and debugging tools to assist with diagnosing / debugging issues
- Experience in using CAD software like Pulsonix, Altium, Cadence, MentorGraphics or Zuken
- Experience with PCB debugging and rework
- Experience with electrical power systems
- Experience with electronic / electro-mechanical schematics
- Demonstrate the ability to use lab test equipment (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator, logic analyser etc.)
- Strong interest and knowledge of electronic hardware
- Knowledge of MS office software suite and Microsoft Visio
- Demonstrate an aptitude for mechanical / systems integration and an ability to provide ‘hands-on’ support
- Demonstrate an ability for innovative thinking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and efficiently as well as in a team
