Sustaining Electronic Engineer with digital and analogue electronics experience required for permanent role with medical devices multinational in Co. Offaly. In this role you will work on improving existing designs, assist in the design of product roadmaps to product end of life, work on new design concepts and projects and to provide a high level knowledge transfer to help engineering team provide diagnostic, test, debug and support to the manufacturing area.


  • Design, prototype, procurement, commissioning and documentation of test equipment, and fixtures
  • Write, manage and maintain production test specifications and related work instructions for all sub-assemblies and products
  • Liaise with Product Development to provide DFT (Design For Test) inputs at an early stage in product design
  • Provide technical support in field related activities such as clinical programmes and complaint investigations
  • Provide technical leadership and structured approach to problem solving for operations personnel involved in process engineering and development activities



  • 3rd Level Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • At least 5 years’ work experience in electronic and electro-mechanical systems manufacturing support and troubleshooting, preferably in a medical device environment
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments to ensure understanding of project specifications
  • Capable of applying knowledge to troubleshoot and propose solutions for electronics-related issues
  • Experience in validation processes
  • Knowledge of PC’s, DOS. Windows and hardware installation
  • Experience with test development software is advantageous
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills and proficient at multitasking
  • Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
