Experienced Leader of Biomedical Design required by market-leading multinational in Dublin – to lead a team of Engineers – Technical, Project and People leadership
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering
- 10+ years relevant experience across different technologies in a Manufacturing Engineering environment
- 5 years experience managing an engineering team within a manufacturing environment
- Strong systems knowledge across Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electronics, Optics, Software and Fluidics
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent experience of Materials and how parts are manufactured using Lean / DFM principals
- Knowledge of Verification & Validation of Design Changes
- Structured Analysis skills
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a technical team of engineers
- Lead and champion full end to end technical ownership for product, process & technical development including DFSS & DFM considerations
- Lead technical & process support to production for medical devices in a low volume, high complexity and highly regulated technology environment
- Analyze & lead deep technical problems to root cause with a structured approach and develop solutions across different technologies (materials, molding, thermal, fluidic, mechanical, electrical, software)
- Act as a source of technical reference and key decision maker in technology or process area
- Develop strategy for implementation of continuous improvement methodologies to increase quality and efficiency of product and process operations
- Participate in New Product Developments by providing detailed design, DFM & DFSS guidance in alignment with Lean and 6 Sigma techniques
- Define and Lead Technology Transfer Initiatives
- Lead Design of Product Enhancements and validation of design changes
- Develop & sustain world class manufacturing and supply chain processes to suit low volume manufacture in association with key stakeholders
- Manage a complex work scope and provide comprehensive reporting to the business level product teams on key technical initiatives
- Manage budgets, CAPEX, OPEX, department and project
