Engineering Manager with strong experience across Hardware/Software and Computer Vision full life cycle design process required for key role with innovative technology company in Dublin city centre. This is a key role within the organisation providing exposure to cutting-edge technologies & exciting new projects for global markets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Mechanical, electrical, robotics, mechatronics engineering or related field
- 6+ years experience across Hardware/Software and Computer Vision full life cycle design process (concept to production)
- A successful track record of managing product development
- Strong software and network experience, preferably in an Edge / IoT context
- Experience of start-ups and mid to large companies
- Proven track record in shipping complex hardware systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Great leadership skills
- Innovation management experience in a commercial context or research experience in an academic setting ideal
- Experience in technical risk management ideal
Responsibilities:
- Lead and represent the Core Systems Team and the hardware technology agenda
- Provide hands-on Engineering leadership in all aspects of the hardware and system design and deployment, from theory to production
- Collaborate cross-departmentally, on software and connectivity architecture of product systems
- Manage hardware engineering schedules and milestones: delivering products that satisfy the committed quality, performance, cost and schedule targets
- Manage Hardware Research and Development; while also contributing to software and connectivity architectures of innovative products
- Hands-on involvement in evaluation and prototyping –trialling combined hardware and software systems in research and customer settings
- Define and gather metrics from production systems
- Support and troubleshoot production systems by coordinating with the customer services team, and cross-functionally with the Software and AI product teams
- Train staff on hardware; developing protocols and installation/configuration run books
- Provide management and career coaching for engineering staff
- Build and manage relationships with vendors; coordinate with exterior contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers to maintain incoming hardware product supplies related to projects
- Create and sustain an environment of ingenuity and creativity and challenge the status quo to encourage innovation
- Cultivate a culture of curiosity, innovation and excellence while continuously elevating the quality and caliber of people, process and product
