Engineering Project Manager required for permanent role with dynamic Irish R&D company in Co. Dublin. As Project Manager you will manage internal and client projects across the company. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. You will work closely with project owners/leaders on all aspects of the projects including; project planning, setting deadlines, assigning resources, tracking milestones and reporting on the progress of each project. You will prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of projects. The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. You will coordinate with all departments to ensure all aspects of projects are compatible and will recommend the hiring of new resources as needed to fulfil client commitments.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the research and development process within the company
  • Ensure all projects/tasks are completed according to the research and development process
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Meet with clients to take detailed briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Work with project owners to delegate project tasks based on staff member’s individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals

Requirements:

  • Third Level Degree – ideally electronic or software engineering
  • Ideally you will have come from an electronic design or embedded development or systems engineering background
  • 3 years of experience working in project management roles within an electronic / software environment
    Strong, pro-active, communication skills are a must
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Excellent organization and documentation skills
