Manufacturing Manager required by growing Irish IoT company in Co. Wexford to ‘Value Stream’ products & drive significant improvements  through the application of lean and continuous improvement principles

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant production discipline. 
  • 10 + years in senior manufacturing roles
  • Demonstrated success in driving significant improvements in manufacturing performance KPIs through the application of lean and continuous improvement principles.
  • Proven ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and lead transformational efforts that develop and empower teams.
  • Experience with Value Stream Thinking and ability to conduct cross-functional process mapping and value stream mapping.
  • Demonstrated accountability in managing multiple tasks and multiple metrics.
  • Ability to balance the ‘running today’ performance, enabling a culture of ‘continuous improvement’, while ensuring you take time to develop and execute on longer term strategic change management.
  • Experience developing and executing on operational strategies.
  • Excellent work ethic and operations excellence approach in daily work.

ADVANTAGEOUS:

  • Higher level masters in business is an advantage.
  • Experience in discrete manufacturing a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across key performance indicators including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Costs.

  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to ensure operational capacity aligns with demand through short-term, medium-term, and long-range capacity planning.

  • Maximize production efficiency by fostering a flexible organization through structured cross-training across all facilities and products.

  • Advocate for tier management processes, empowering teams to pursue continuous improvement and holding them accountable for their performance.

  • Coordinate closely with the scheduling, planning, and procurement departments to ensure that processes, materials, personnel and equipment are in place to meet weekly production requirements and support customer needs.

  • Partner with Product, Technology and Digitization (PDT) and Product Management (PM) teams to support the product lifecycle, including new product manufacturing and product rationalization.

  • Collaborate with counterparts at other global production facilities to optimize and standardize production practices by sharing best practices.
  • Utilize the Excellence System Evaluation to identify strategic areas for improvement, advancing operational excellence.
  • Promote Value Stream thinking throughout the organization, and work with manufacturing engineering on the continuous improvement journey from ‘current state’ to ‘future state’ and ultimately to ‘ideal state.’
  • Leverage technologies such as data analytics, MES, digitization and automation where practical to drive ongoing operational improvements.
