NPI Process / Commercial Product Manager
Job Description
NPI Process / Commercial Product Manager required by an innovative IoT Electronics company in Dublin, to lead the successful transition of new product designs into full-scale production. You will act as the key interface between design, engineering, manufacturing & commercial teams, ensuring seamless delivery from concept to production—on time, within budget & to the highest quality standards. This is a strategically important role with the potential to evolve into a Head of NPI position. Initially, you’ll be hands-on: reviewing pilot runs, managing changes, aligning processes & ensuring production-readiness.
Key Responsibilities

Early Stage Involvement: Participate in the design phase of new projects to ensure DFM and production-readiness evolve alongside product design.

Prototype to Production: Oversee the transition of prototypes into scalable manufacturing, including factory alignment and pilot production supervision.

Regulatory & UX Oversight: Ensure all products meet applicable regulatory standards while enhancing the user experience.

Stakeholder Management: Evaluate customer change requests, manage scope creep, cost implications & push back when needed—without compromising relationships.

Business-Engineering Bridge: Translate engineering decisions and challenges into commercial language and risks for the business and vice versa.

Process Development: Create and implement systems and SOPs for effective NPI handovers across multiple operations and suppliers.

Project Management: Own delivery of at least 3 concurrent projects annually, with 2 or more progressing to commercial production.

Customer Delivery & Completion: Handoff is marked by secured customer orders—then move on to the next project.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or a related field; Master’s preferred.

Minimum 8+ years experience in industry – ideally electronics / semiconductor.

5 years experience in a similar NPI Manager role.

Strong background in electronics manufacturing.

Proven experience managing projects from prototype through to volume manufacturing.

Hands-on experience working with Chinese manufacturing partners, including BOM reviews, quality checks, and compliance.

Solid commercial acumen with the ability to challenge both engineering teams and customer requests.
Nice to Have
- Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements for electronic products (e.g., RoHS, REACH, ISO).
- Fluency in Mandarin would be ideal.
