Physical Design Engineer
Job Description
Physical Design Engineer required by Cork multinational to help execute all phases of physical implementation for cutting-edge SoCs. You will be part of a global team working on advanced physical design, power integrity and timing analysis for next-generation technologies
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead physical implementation efforts from floorplan to GDS for high-speed, complex designs with aggressive PPA (Power, Performance, Area) targets.

Research and develop innovative methodologies to push the limits of PPA in physical design, including the creation of custom scripts and design flows.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs in context of physical implementation, timing closure, and power optimization.

Stay on top of industry trends, researching new innovations in physical design to ensure we’re always using best practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field, and 4+ years of experience in ASIC design, verification, or related fields OR Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field, and 3+ years of relevant experience OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience.

4+ years of experience in Physical Design, with a comprehensive knowledge of the entire PD flow (from netlist to GDS).

Expertise in Floorplanning, Power Planning, Placement, CTS, Routing and Optimization for advanced technology nodes (10nm and below).

Strong understanding of STA, timing closure, and its impact on congestion, routing and power.

Familiarity with Power Analysis, Power Integrity Analysis and Physical Verification (including DRC closure).

Proficiency in automation using Perl and TCL, with the ability to develop and support flows related to physical design.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
