Principal Medical Devices R&D Engineer with significant experience with medical device delivery systems experience required for key role with dynamic medical devices scale-up in Dublin. This highly visible role can be worked remotely or at the Dublin or Galway sites. As a Principal Engineer you will gain exposure to all stages of device development; take ownership of projects and work with peers to take this second generation design to manufacture. 


  • Manage and fulfil day to day R&D activities of product design, development, manufacture and testing of a novel device, from concept stage through to regulatory approval
  • Liaise and support vendors during early stage manufacturing development of catheter and delivery system polymer based components
  • Provide technical leadership to the R&D team, promote technical innovation and high standard of engineering
  • Promote a quality culture within the R&D team, delivering projects to specification on time and in budget
  • Liaise with other function leaders and managers to communicate R&D activities in line with R&D strategy
  • Support CTO in relationship development with technical demonstrations, data, presentations
  • Support the CTO in managing the innovation process, invention disclosure and IP filing


  • Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in medical device industry in a related role, Ideally you will have exposure to moulding, micro moulding, catheter technology development
  • Project planning skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing R&D projects
  • Excellent written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • A self-starter with a high level of motivation, positive attitude, and sense of responsibility
