Lead the Transfer of Cutting-Edge Medical Technology to Market

An innovative MedTech company in Galway is seeking an experienced Programme Director to drive the transfer of an electro-mechanical medical device from Research & Technology development into a drug/device combination product for market release. This high-impact role involves overseeing process development, equipment and infrastructure setup and supply chain qualification in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead High-Impact Programme Execution – Drive the device elements of a complex, multifaceted Drug/Device project, ensuring adherence to schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
End-to-End Technology Transfer – Oversee the transition of an advanced medical device to full-scale manufacturing and commercialization.
Strategic Planning & Execution – Develop, integrate, and manage comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Cross-Functional Leadership – Manage on-site and remote teams across multiple time zones, ensuring effective collaboration across engineering, regulatory, and commercial functions.
Supply Chain & Process Development – Establish and qualify a robust supplier network, infrastructure and logistics strategy for seamless market entry.
Stakeholder Communication – Keep all internal and external stakeholders informed, ensuring transparency, alignment, and risk mitigation.
Adaptability & Problem Solving – Respond to change and uncertainty with risk-assessed solutions, maintaining momentum towards successful product launch.

What You’ll Need

✔️ Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Science.
✔️ 10+ years of Senior Project Leadership in MedTech, successfully delivering complex projects.
✔️ Experience with Drug/Device combination product development and commercialization.
✔️ Advanced expertise in Program Management methodologies, tools and execution.
✔️ Strong technical background in product development, process engineering and scale-up.
✔️ Experience in supply chain infrastructure, supplier management and logistics.
✔️ Ability to navigate ambiguity, take initiative, and drive projects to completion.
✔️ Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and influencing skills.
✔️ Exceptional communication skills, from board-level engagement to cross-functional team leadership.
✔️ Comfortable managing change with agility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
✔️ Regulatory knowledge of drug-device combination products (advantageous).
