RF Electronics Design Engineer – Cutting-Edge RF & Wireless Solutions (Co. Clare)

Are you an RF specialist looking for an exciting challenge? A leading IoT company in Co. Clare is seeking an RF Electronics Design Engineer to design, test & implement advanced RF systems and devices. You’ll work hands-on in RF tuning, lab measurements, and approvals testing, collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers to integrate RF systems into high-performance, regulatory-compliant products.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Design & Develop RF systems and devices, including Antennas, Filters, and Amplifiers.
  • RF Tuning & Testing – Perform Impedance Matching, Harmonics Measurement, Filtering, Polar Plotting and Range Testing.
  • Hands-On Lab Work – Conduct RF tuning and measurement in an Anechoic Chamber.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Develop test procedures ensuring compliance with RED, EMC and other industry standards.
  • Innovation & Research – Stay updated on RF technologies, trends, and advancements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with hardware & software teams to integrate RF solutions into next-generation products.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Maintain technical documentation, test reports & project updates.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Microwave, Telecommunications, or Computer Network Engineering.
  • 3+ years’ experience in RF system design & development (Antennas, Filters, Amplifiers).
  • Strong RF tuning & testing skills – Impedance Matching, Harmonic Measurement, Filtering, etc.
  • Expertise in RF lab equipment – Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator.
  • Exceptional soldering skills.
  • Detail-oriented problem solver with a team-first approach.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have!)

  • Experience with Wireless Communication Protocols – Sub-1GHz, BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing RF systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) & Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) for documentation & reporting.
