Scientist with at least 3 years hands-on experience in medical device testing within a medical devices laboratory required by market-leading medical devices company in Galway.
Working from headquarters in Galway, you will get the opportunity to further develop ground-breaking innovative technology that is being used in life-saving devices for global healthcare markets. This role will involve working in a laboratory environment and some international travel may also be required.
Responsibilities:
- Science lead for design change projects
- Design validation testing (DVT)
- Setting up processes and systems within the laboratories
- Management and supervision of staff as appropriate
- Medical device testing
- Analyse complex data sets
- Statistics – hypothesis testing, design of experiments
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams with minimal supervision
- Assume project management activities
- Write technical reports for regulatory submissions
- Provide technical training to colleagues to support the continuous learning culture within the team
- Interacting and aiding other in-house departments as necessary
Requirements:
- MSc/Degree in a relevant discipline
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical/medical device laboratory
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in medical device testing
- Strong analytical background (chemical and biophysical techniques) with demonstrated ability to analyse complex data sets
- Knowledge of statistics – hypothesis testing, design of experiments
- Team player with experience of contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams,
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong initiative
- Ability to assume project management activities
- Ability to write technical reports for regulatory submissions
- Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous
- Working knowledge of cGMP and cGLP
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in English both speaking and writing
