Senior Analog / Mixed Signal Design Engineer required in Dublin for the design, implementation and verification of RF/Analog blocks/subsystems from DC up to 20GHz. Working as part of a cross-functional team on the delivery of next generation products from concept to volume production, you will be expected to support concurrent engineering activities to ensure on-going production of quality products with high yield.


  • Actively contribute to the generation of product and block specifications (ICs, evaluation system, etc.).

  • Generate, document and verify behavioural models of analogue and analogue-mixed-signal blocks (e.g. using VerilogA/AMS, System-Verilog RNM, Wreal) and ensure they are optimised and kept up to date.

  • Write verification plans and create automated test benches.

  • Design and verify RF/Analog blocks/subsystems (e.g. LNA, PA, VCO, PLL, mixers, bandgaps, LDO, DC-DC, ADC, DAC etc), up to an operating frequency of 20GHz, using industry standard tools and design flows.

  • Host design/verification reviews.

  • Work with IC Layout Design Engineers to optimise design and layout.

  • Ensure that designs follow industry best practice design flows, verification techniques, Design For Test (DFT), isolation, power optimisation etc.

  • Produce high quality RF/Analog systems/sub-systems using industry best practice methods for design, verification and test according to project plans

  • Interact with other engineers in the mixed signal, systems, digital/baseband/SW teams to ensure products are delivered to meet or exceed specifications, on time and where applicable within budget.

  • Support lab evaluation, characterisation and test.

  • Support IC Applications team in solving customer issues and solving and anticipating potential issues.

  • Support concurrent engineering teams to ensure issues with current products are resolved in a timely manner and to ensure their on-going high yield in volume production.


  • Minimum Masters of Science in Electronic Engineering or related field and first experience in relevant product development preferred.

  • Experience in designing any of DC-DC’s, LNA’s, PA’s, VCO’s, mixers, data converters.

  • Experience with high temp design practices and layout DFM.

  • High frequency CMOS RF design up to 20 GHz

  • High frequency CMOS analog design up to 2GHz preferred

  • Analog behavioural model generation and verification

  • Low power IC design techniques

  • Complete IC Design Flow: Analog IC Architecture Design and Modelling; IP Evaluation and Selection, Analog/Digital partitioning in mixed-signal systems

  • Design in CMOS 40nm or less nodes

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Analytical skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative to come up with innovative solutions

  • Good communication skills, verbal & written

  • Good working knowledge of Cadence suite of analog design tools.
