Senior Electronic Design Engineer with 10+ years experience required by innovative tech company in North Dublin – to work on cutting-edge design for the global semiconductor market. Reporting to the CTO, you will work alongside a collaborative & experienced team on the design & definitions of prototype and final products for the semiconductor market.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field. A background in Mechanical Engineering may also be considered
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Electronics Design, including schematic creation, PCB layout and assembly
  • Proficiency in PCB assembly, including soldering and de-soldering techniques
  • Experience with Electronics Design tools (e.g., Altium)
  • Basic knowledge of firmware and software development, including programming languages such as C/C++
  • Familiarity with various prototyping techniques and manufacturing processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Mechanical design experience and skills, including proficiency in 3D CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD, would be an advantage
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities:

  • Take concept ideas and simplify requirements to provide quick proof of concept designs, with an emphasis on electronics design
  • Design electronics schematics, PCB layout, and assemble PCB’s
  • Identify areas of risk for concept designs and develop quick, simple tests to remove/reduce risk
  • Build and test prototype designs to assess concept feasibility and remove risk
  • Develop and document product definitions based on customer requirements and proof of concept testing
  • Work with the development team to clearly define all tasks and tests required to complete product development
  • Carry out development work on products as required (hardware, firmware, software, testing)
  • Record work in project management software
  • Deliver tasks within time estimates
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
  • Support documentation processes, including design records, reports, and patent applications
  • Adhere to all relevant regulatory and quality standards
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and methodologies in electronics engineering, applying them as appropriate to projects
