Senior Electronic Sustaining Engineer required for permanent role with growing electronics company in Co. Clare. Working with a collaborative team of design engineers, you work as a Sustaining Design Engineer for a large variety of electronics products and work with customers to identify, review, assess, and implement upgrades throughout the products life cycle.  This role can facilitate full time on site or a hybrid likely to be 60% from home and 40% onsite 

Responsibilities:

  • As a technical contributor, drive continuous improvement for existing products and processes

  • As a technical contributor working with key groups in determining root cause analysis of field issues, implementing corrective actions & robust solutions to improve existing and future products.

  • Working with the development team and manufacturing to define and develop robust products based on learnings from existing products

  • Develop key relationships with our suppliers and partners through continuous improvement of existing products

     

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or similar
  • Experience in customized electronic controls / sustaining / product design
  • Significant and relevant software development skills for embedded microcontrollers
  • Must have excellent customer communications skills as will work with a variety of customers on product modifications

Advantageous:

  • Familiarity with standards (FCC / IC / RED / ATEX / EMC / UKCA / CE)
  • Experience with Atmel/PIC microcontrollers
  • Solid working knowledge of microcontroller interfacing including UI development (Graphic LCD, button, LEDs, Sensor’s etc)
  • Experience in SPI, I2C communications and wireless communications such as: GSM, GPRS, ISM, Mbus, WiFi, Sigfox, LoRa, ZigBee, Bluetooth
  • Understand digital and analogue circuit design, simulation, & analysis as appropriate to the project
  • Be up to date with regulatory and industry compliance requirements appropriate to the target market
