A global leader in sensor-based technology solutions is seeking a Senior R&D Project Manager to join its dynamic team in Dublin. This is a strategic role within the Project Management Office (PMO), focused on planning, executing and delivering high-impact Research & Development (R&D) and New Product Development (NPD) projects. The successful candidate will manage complex, international projects across cross-functional teams and engage regularly with executive leadership to report progress and influence outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the execution of critical R&D and NPD projects aligned with strategic goals.
    • Allocate resources, manage budgets, and oversee delivery within defined scope and timelines.
    • Deliver project updates, risk assessments, and resolution strategies to senior stakeholders.

    • Maintain project visibility through structured documentation and use of internal project platforms.

    • Refine and contribute to internal project governance frameworks and training academies.

    • Act as an advocate for project teams and champion continuous process improvement.

    • Coach and mentor junior project managers, fostering a culture of professional growth.

    • Ensure smooth project initiation and effective knowledge transfer at closure.

    • Facilitate collaboration across global, cross-functional teams.

    Requirements

    • Minimum 10 years of project management experience in product or technology-oriented industries (e.g., machinery, equipment, automation).

    • Proven experience in leading large-scale, cross-functional projects in R&D or NPD environments.

    • Strong background in manufacturing-related product development, ideally involving automated machinery or hardware/software integration.

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

    • Certified in project management methodologies (e.g., Prince2, PMP).

    • Strong leadership credentials with 5+ years in managerial roles.

    • Ability to navigate complexity, align global teams, and deliver results efficiently.

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including executive-level reporting and presentations.
