Senior Software Engineer (C/C++) required for software design & development of Firmware for Medical Devices multinational in Dublin.

You will act as the Software Lead for multiple projects, working closely with other members of the team translating software requirements into robust, adaptable software designs.

Some travel may be required to other client’s locations or suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Third level Degree in Engineering, Science, or similar discipline. (Master’s qualification or higher is an advantage) 
  • At least 5 years of relevant engineering and/or operational experience
  • Highly competent with multiple programming languages (Assembler, C, C++11, Java, .NET) to develop and evolve software systems optimally
  • A deep understanding of development of medical device software
  • Proven knowledge of medical software development standard (IEC 62304)
  • Experienced with Team leading software development using ALM tools (SysML, JIRA, SCRUM, JAMA, STASH, Enterprise Architect, SciTools Understand)
  • Proven knowledge of coding standards (MISRA-C, MISRA-C++, JSF C++)
  • Experienced with FDA 510K preparation and submission
  • Competent to translate requirements into optimal designs
  • Deep knowledge of Static and Dynamic system modelling
  • Familiar with safety critical algorithms and programming (watchdog, voting pattern, dual redundancy)
  • Highly competent with data structures
  • Wide knowledge and understanding of agile software development techniques such as Extreme Programming, SCRUM and Test Driven Development
  • Solid knowledge of Microcontroller iMX6, iMX8, PIC Controllers, NXP LPC54102, NXP LPC54618
  • Solid experience with Real-time operating system such as QNX, SafeRTOS, Linux
  • Wide knowledge of Wifi/BLE/Cellular 5G
  • Familiar with TeamCity, Artifactory, Sonarqube
  • Knowledge of QT/ Safe Renderer development
  • Experienced with VectorCast ATG/Unit testing

Responsibilities: 

  • Produce software documentation
  • Review/approve detailed designs from other team members
  • Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to translate design requirements into well-formed software requirements
  • Work with verification and validation to ensure conformance to established design development processes and procedures
  • Work with programme managers to help create project schedules
  • Create/coordinate design solutions for complex problems
  • Lead and facilitate design decisions to ensure on-time delivery of projects
  • Escalate technical issues in a timely fashion to software systems manager
  • Provides mentoring in software development to other team members
  • Liaise will many internal stakeholders within the company to include: Mechanical, electrical, validation and verification teams
  • Consider multiple alternatives and solutions to a problem
