Signal Processing Engineer required for permanent role with dynamic Irish R&D company (Hybrid – 3 days a week on site in Dublin). Joining an ambitious & collaborative team of experienced engineers & reporting to the CTO, you will provide expertise in Signal Processing design. You will work with a cross-functional team on the development of hardware, firmware and software and will help to create product definitions and project plans for both prototype and final products. The role will also involve completing tasks in the product development to help deliver the final product to the customer. 


  • Provide expertise in designs where signal processing skills are required
  • Assist with developing algorithms and software to assist in calibrating analog data acquisition systems
  • Identify areas for improvements in existing hardware and software designs
  • Build prototype designs to test concept feasibility and remove risk
  • Test prototype designs and provide test results to management
  • Develop and document product definitions based on customer requirements and proof of concept testing
  • Work with development team to clearly define all tasks and tests required to complete product development
  • Carry out development work on products as required (hardware, firmware, software, testing)
  • Record work in project management software


  • Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years experience in developing signal processing systems and algorithms
  • Embedded software and or electronic hardware experience is preferable
  • Experience with some of the following:
    • Sampling theory
    • Analog to digital conversion
    • Signal amplification
    • Digital and analog filter design
    • Extracting signal from noisy signals
    • Fast Fourier transforms
    • Digital Signal processing techniques
    • VHDL firmware development (Bonus)
    • Analog data acquisition system calibration (comfortable with statistics)
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to simplify complex problems into smaller simpler problems
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • A self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills
