Software Engineer with Embedded C programming & Electronics experience required by dynamic medical devices company in Galway. Working with a cross-functional team of engineers you will gain exposure to design of innovative & life -changing products in the medical devices sector
Requirements:
- Level 8 Degree in Engineering – Electronic / Biomedical / Software Development or similar
- Minimum 1 year experience in Embedded software development
- C coding experience
- Experience in system level hardware/software debugging and testing
- Knowledge of standard connections like SPI, I2C and UART
- Experience with GIT or Subversion
- Be a versatile team player, have strong initiative, be willing to multitask, and accept new technical challenges
- Have an interest to work in other areas (i.e., concept design, system troubleshooting, software development, data analysis) other than embedded electronics during various phases of projects
ADVANTAGEOUS:
- C++
- Wireless connection knowledge like Bluetooth, Zigbee and WiFi
- Experience with Altium Designer for designing schematics and PCB layouts of analog, digital, and RF circuitries
- Experience with medical device standards (ISO-60601, ISO-13485)
Responsibilities:
- Design, development, integration and testing of electronic medical devices
- Design and prototype new product concepts, selecting off-the-shelf components and/or designing custom systems
- Design Graphical User Interface and firmware
- Migration of existing code to versioning systems like GIT or Subversion
- Develop and execute project plan of low to moderate complexity for electronic systems
- Authors and/or assists in the creation of new test methods and protocols
- Interface with cross-functional groups such as QA, Operations, Marketing and Regulatory Affairs as needed for new product development and sustaining projects
- Write technical reports, quality documents, test protocols and design input and output documents, literature reviews
- Work with external testing laboratories on compliance testing for new products and sustaining engineering activities
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding detail prints and component specifications
- Identify and pursue opportunities to license, co-develop and/or partner with technology innovators to bring new technology products and/or services to market
