Software Development Manager required for key leadership role with exciting B2B software company in Co. Offaly. My multinational client is building a software hub in Co. Offaly and is keen to recruit an ambitious software development manager who will excel in a rapidly growing and dynamic organisation. 

The techstack is Java, JEE, AngularJS, Node.JS, PHP, MySQL, MongoDB, SOAP, REST. The successful candidate will be innovative, passionate, collaborative, willing to show initiative and enjoy working in a fast-paced and rewarding team-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring adherence to best practice development standards and guidelines while ensuring that an effective and efficient IT software development service is provided to the business
  • Work with the internal teams to determine software requirements, architecture, using technical knowledge to drive out effective business solutions
  • Reviewing and approving software deliverables, ensuring the quality of all applications
  • Custodian of the Applications architectures and ensures it is fit for purpose to enable the achievement of IT objectives
  • Management and development of the Software Development team members
  • Management of aspects of the software development lifecycle as appropriate from requirements gathering through design, development, testing, delivery, and enhancement

Requirements:

  • Third level qualification in Software Development or similar
  • A minimum of three years’ experience of leading, coaching and developing senior development teams

  • At least six years’ experience developing applications with at least 4 years working with web-service based applications

  • Strong java and web service API with SQL skills

  • Agile/Scrum experience
  • Experierience with some of the following: XML JSON JQuery, Linux OS / Apache Software architecture, VMWare Vbox KVM Docker
  • The ability to work cohesively with senior management and change agents across various teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The candidate must have strong sense of ownership and “start-up mindset”
  • Willing to travel from time to time to meet internal or external partners 
  • Capacity to work with internal/external remote teams all around the world 
  • Personable with excellent communication skills
  • Passionate, participative, innovative
