Senior Electronic Design Engineer
Job Description
Senior Electronic Design Engineer with strong leadership skills & at least 6 years experience in industry required by high-growth IoT company in Co. Clare. My client designs, develops & manufactures life-saving devices for global markets. You will be responsible for hardware architecture and board level design of new products and the associated systems. In your role you will be a part of the team that brings new products from concept through to high volume manufacturing environment delivery. The role will include the component engineering activities that are vital to ensuring a secure supply chain through the life of the products.
Requirements:
- Honours Degree in Electronic Engineering
- 6+ years experience in consumer product design, including circuit design, component engineering, integration, embedded systems and debugging
- Low-power circuit design, DC/DC converters, power management methods
- Analogue design and mixed-signal board-level design
- Processor architecture, digital circuit design and embedded systems
- Communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB
- Familiarity with RF technology – antenna design, impedance matching, performance tuning of RF circuits – 345MHz, 433MHz, 868MHz, 2.4GHz
- Experience integrating RF technologies such as Zigbee, Zwave, WIFI, BlueTooth
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple disciplines
- Good understanding of manufacturing process including DFM and DFT for consumer products
- Good working knowledge of the technical concepts involved in the development of products and processes
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to operate autonomously
- Familiarity with Altium Designer Suite will be advantageous
Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive design development from schematic capture, PCB layout through assembly, and test house validation
- Ensure design of robust ESD/EMI immunities and RF de-sensitisation
- Partner with software teams to define and implement firmware, drivers and algorithms
- Interface between R&D and Supply Chain to manage components’ obsolescence and alternatives
- Ensure preparation of all Board Assembly files and Drawings for prototypes build and new product release
- Design products incorporating Low-power circuit design, DC/DC converters, power management methods, analogue design, mixed-signal board-level design, Processor architecture, digital circuit design, embedded systems, communications protocols (I2C, UART, SPI, USB), RF technology (Antenna design, impedance matching, performance tuning of RF circuits – 345MHz, 433MHz, 868MHz, 2.4GHz)
- Integrating products with RF technologies such as Zigbee, Zwave, WIFI, BlueTooth
